Gloucester’s Laura Ventimiglia, a retired college educator, author and administrator, says she’s particularly excited about this year’s 90th anniversary of the St. Peter’s Fiesta because she is in the last phase of completing a book about the longstanding tradition to honor the patron saint of fishermen.
She has written a children’s book, titled “Nonna, What is St. Peter’s Fiesta? Nonna, che cos’è la Festa di San Pietro?,” in both English and Italian. The book will not be ready until the fall, however, because it will include commemorative photos taken during this year’s 90th anniversary celebration.
