Begun two years ago, the Calandra Institute's Community Book Club has read together and engaged in fun, funny, argumentative, dynamic, and critical conversation about a whole slew of the greatest Italian American books ever written. And we want you to join us as we continue exploring classic Italian American literature!
Come to our next meeting, Monday, November 16, at 6:30 p.m., when we will discuss our latest selection, Louisa Ermelino's The Black Madonna. Vincent Patrick (author of The Pope of Greenwich Village) said this of the book: "Louisa Ermelino is America's counterpart to Fellini and DeSica. She practices storytelling at its best." Please RSVP to Sian Gibby at [email protected]. Then just read the book and come prepared to hash it over with us in a lively discussion!
