After a remarkable, successful $250,000 Kickstarter campaign, CIMA is thrilled to announce that the BOLTED BOOK has arrived! Join us this weekend at MoMA PS1 for a special talk about the book with Steven Heller and Raffaele Bedarida and a rare chance to see an original copy of Depero Futurista.

Printed Matter's NY Art Book Fair. Sunday, September 24. 1pm at artbook on the first floor. MoMA PS1 22-25 Jackson Avenue, Queens. Copies of the facsimile will be available for purchase (please note: the print run is nearly sold out!)

We are proud to have collaborated with the Mart Museum of modern and contemporary art of Trento and Rovereto in Italy and Designers & Books to produce a spectacular NEW FACSIMILE EDITION of Fortunato Depero's 1927 Masterpiece Depero Futurista (The Bolted Book).

When originally published in 1927, Depero Futurista created an uproar in the art and design world, as it creatively and energetically broke all the rules and set new standards in book publishing, typography, and artist self-promotion. Arguably the first artist’s book of the 20th century, the book carries the nickname The Bolted Book as a result of being bound together with two large aluminum bolts. This allowed it to function as a “portable museum”—as the pages could removed from the book and pinned up exhibition-like.

CIMA dedicated its inaugural season to Fortunato Depero.
