The relationship between Montgomery, Alabama, and Pietrasanta, Italy, is a tale of two cities and two mayors. The two cultures are connected as far back as 100 years ago. The two mayors added the latest chapter to the tale this past week.
In 2009, Pietrasanta and Montgomery formally agreed to be Sister Cities, a deal facilitated by Alabama State Council on the Arts (ASCA) and ASCA Executive Director Al Head. That's also when the two cities' mayors, Massimo Mallegni and Todd Strange, met for the first time.
