In the dark, earthen tones of its ocher walls and faux-brick paneling, Bin 300 World Bistro in Wolcott exudes something of the ambience of Amsterdam's famous brown cafes. That is no easy feat, as structurally the space for the restaurant, which opened in 2007, still bears traces of its earlier inhabitant, an A & W Drive-In.
Appearances aside, Bin 300 is, with a few exceptions, pure Italian. It counts more than a dozen pasta and risotto dishes among its regular offerings, and that is merely scratching the surface. Yet Bin 300's greatest strength may be its warm hospitality.
