Portillo’s is hoping to open its second Madison location sometime later this year. We first reported the new location, which will be near West Towne Mall, in December 2020 after Portillo’s executives filed paperwork with the city of Madison. On Thursday, the company sent a news release about the West Towne location indicating it would open sometime in 2021.

The restaurant would be around 7,800 square feet and be able to serve around 180 guests indoors. There will also be dozens of patio seats outside. The west side Madison location will also feature a new three-lane drive-thru model, which will help with mobile and online orders.
