Pizza, we all adore it. My 2-year-old, if given the choice, would eat it for every meal if allowed. In fact, if you are standing in an elevator with seven other Americans, chances are at least one of them has eaten pizza in the last 24 hours.
No matter where you go in the U.S., from large cities to small towns, chances are you'll find a pizzeria. Pizza has become a staple of American gastronomy, but the surprising fact is that this is a relatively recent phenomenon.
