I live in Conneaut, Ohio, and treasure every time I've made the 10-minute drive to Biscotti's Restaurant. Those all-too-rare trips promise exquisite food bordering on (OK, full-on) indulgence. The Italian bread is hot and soft. The salads, with a powerful balsamic dressing, delight.
This time, we also tried stuffed portobello mushrooms in the name of research. Under a generous ladle of creamy red-pepper garlic cheese sauce lay Italian sausage, mozzarella and provolone cheese piled on two large mushroom caps.
