Stella Albano's Pizzeria in Cicero reopened Friday, serving up giant pizza puffs, spinach, onion and mushroom pizzas and Italian beef sandwiches the way it has for 25 years, because that's what Giovanni Donancricchia — known as "Pa" to his children who will take turns running the place in his absence — would have wanted.
Nobody would have faulted the Donancricchia family for taking time away from their pizzeria business after its much-loved owner was shot and killed during an armed robbery there this month.
But Stella Albano's Pizzeria in Cicero reopened Friday, serving up giant pizza puffs; spinach, onion and mushroom pizzas; and Italian beef sandwiches the way it has for 25 years, because that's what Giovanni Donancricchia — known as "Pa" to his children who now will take turns running the place — would have wanted, his family said.
