While enjoying Orsetto the other evening I stated emphatically, at least a few times, "I want to eat here every night." I could be exaggerating, but not by much. Partners Joshua Governale and Fred Peightal have given the whimsical pig of Cafe Genevieve a stylish new bear brother at Orsetto.
What a delight. The location on Center Street now shines. The familiar staff is welcoming and well-trained. The fare is familial and comforting, robust and warming. Governale's family settled in Southern California, bringing their traditions from Italy by way of New Orleans and Chicago. His grandfather lived with them and did much of the cooking. Governale recalls that being beside him in the kitchen was his favorite place to be, helping and tasting.
