Mayor Domenic J. Sarno will honor the owners of Albano's Market on Wednesday by presenting them with a ceremonial "Key to the City" as they prepare to close the business after being family-run in Springfield for 74 years. The key presentation is scheduled at 2:30 p.m., at the market, located at 1167 East Columbus Ave., in the South End.
Sarno is also slated to issue a proclamation recognizing Albano's Market and its owners, Filomena Bruschi and Theresa D'Angelantonio, "for their longstanding commitment to community and their work in the City of Springfield," according to an announcement of the ceremony from the mayor's office.
