Students in Maria Colangelo's French-Italian club got a taste of traditional Italian cuisine Wednesday as professional chefs Tina Autunno and Rosa Rocco visited. The pair taught students how to make spinach and ricotta ravioli in a tangy orange sauce.
Autunno, a chef at Piccolo Arancio in Farmington and Rocco, who cooks at Peppercorn's Grill in Hartford, are sisters who learned the art of crafting savory dishes from their Italian grandmother, who died in 2012. However, her cooking skills have lived on through them, and they have been showcased at the school for the past three years.
