Luna Park – the amusement district on Coney Island – now has a gelato maker from Italy making fresh artisanal gelato daily for Coney's Cones. He name is Daniele Del Sasso from Vincenza (in the Northeast of Italy) and his gelato's creative flavors and dense, rich texture is drawing crowds.
Three year ago, Alberto Zamperla (owner of Zamperla Inc. and Central Amusement International) developed a friendship with Del Sasso after visiting his locations in Italy and realized that gelato would be a great addition for his Luna Park amusement park. Zamperla brought Del Sasso to the United States in 2014 to start working with the team at Luna Park to develop the concept in Coney Island. Now Coney's Cones serves his hand crafted gelato, using state of the art techniques – in 12 flavors (from 24) that alternate regularly. Coney's Cones is located in Luna Park on the Coney Island boardwalk.
Debuting in 2011, Coney's Cones features fresh ice cream made daily on the premises. For the 2015 Summer Coney Cones has developed delicious recipes with fresh fruits, decadent chocolate and more. This will make for a unique experience never before tasted on Coney Island. CAI Foods will feature Coney's Cones at the current location on the boardwalk as well as at a kiosk inside Luna Park. www.facebook.com/coneyscones
