The Italian American Committee on Education (IACE) and Eataly New York invite students in the Italian language program to participate in the initiative "Food in Focus," a photography contest. IACE students are encouraged to submit photos taken with a smartphone. The image should depict Italian cuisine, from simple, quality ingredients to beautiful, plated dishes.
The contest judge will be Francesco Tonelli, a renowned Italian cookbook author and food photographer. His evaluation will be based on favoring the "appetite appeal" vs the "graphic" nature of the photos. Each student may submit up to three photos by emailing [email protected] with the subject line "Food in Focus." Students can also post their photos on Instagram with the hashtag #FoodInFocus
