DO YOU REMEMBER WHEN YOU WERE A KID and didn’t want to eat whatever your parents cooked for dinner, so they gave up and made you spaghetti? Well, the folks at One Fifth do. After the Georgia James Tavern takeover ends this Saturday at Chris Shepherd’s always-changing restaurant, One Fifth morphing once again, and this time it’s going Italian on us.
But, One Fifth: Red Sauce Italian won’t be anything like its past Romance Languages iteration, which celebrated Italian, French, and Spanish cuisines, per a press release. Instead, Shepherd’s One Fifth Team is narrowing in on the nostalgic Italian American food of our childhoods. Think red-sauce dishes like spaghetti and meatballs, chicken parmesan, baked pastas, and wood-fired pepperoni pizza, plus desserts like New York-style cheesecake and tiramisu.
