A local family is taking over a longstanding Reno bakery and transforming it into an authentic Italian café experience. On Friday, the Iturriaga family will open Dolce Caffe in the place of Franz's Backstube Austrian Bakery at 3882 Mayberry Drive in Reno, NV, which the family acquired earlier this month.
The Iturriaga team includes father Claudio, who also works as director of public area housekeeping at Caesars Entertainment, and his daughter, Melissa, who will serve as the café's executive baker. "She's 28 years old, a hard worker, salt of the earth and just a good human being," Claudio Iturriaga said of his daughter, whom he described as the star of the new café.
