Nick's Italian Cafe in McMinnville has been named one of the James Beard Foundation's America's Classics restaurants, the foundation announced Thursday.
Nick's, which was originally in 1977 by Nick Peirano, grew into a Willamette Valley wine country favorite for juice-stained vintners and day-tripping wine sippers alike.
For the past seven years, the restaurant has been run by Peirano's daughter, Carmen Peirano, and son-in-law, Eric Ferguson, who have expanded the business with their Fino in Fondo line of charcuterie.
