As the owner of a Tempe-based espresso wholesale and distribution company, Patrick O'Malley regularly makes business trips to Italy, where he's surrounded by fellow java professionals in an educational workshop or seminar.
But in the birthplace of espresso, the Bisbee native is the one doing the teaching as the Europeans listen and learn from the American owner of Espresso Italia, which O'Malley opened in 1999. Coffee has been a professional and personal passion for O'Malley for nearly three decades.
