A big tree, visible from a distance, deeply and strongly rooted in the ground, with a large and towering crown, standing shining, un-affected and un-frightened by the thunderstorms. By new and different courses settling in. The tree is the iconic and spectacular symbol Marco Balich chose a few months ago to stand for Padiglione Italia (the Italian pavilion) of which he is the artistic director, at Expo Milano 2015.
"The idea we are trying to convey is the willingness to draw from our roots, our unique past to transform this rich heritage in a message for the future," Balich explains. Often referred to as the "Designer of emotions," Balich started his eventful career from the music world, organizing big international concerts for stars such as Pink Floyd, U2 and Peter Gabriel.
