The racetrack is the birthplace of new technology for the automobile and motorcycle world, hence the catch-phrase: “Race on Sunday; sell on Monday.” Now, thanks to a collaboration with hybrid cloud data services and data management company NetApp Inc., legendary Italian motorcycle manufacturer Ducati Motor Holding SpA is taking the popular saying literally.
“We transform racing motorbikes to road bikes,” said Konstantin Kostenarov (pictured, right), chief technology officer of Ducati. “We give our customers this kind of experience because all information [gathered] during the Sunday [race] we are able to put in on Monday and sell a bike that has the same performance, safety and pleasure of riding [as a race bike].”
