Italian-born researcher Valentina Greco has been elected president of the International Society for Stem Cell (Isscr), the world's largest stem cell scientific society. Valentina Greco, was born in Palermo in 1972 and at the university in the Sicilian city she graduated in Molecular Biology. Today she leads a research group at the Yale School of Medicine.
The group is committed to understanding how different regeneration mechanisms powered by stem cells enable the body's tissues to remain balanced and healthy throughout life.
