The last session was a flop, but Piazza Affari can still claim the title of "Queen of the European markets" in 2015 and even one of the best performances worldwide. With a rise in the FTSE Mib by 12.7% over the last session of 2014 -- which then rises to 15.4% for the FTSE All Share -- Milan's stock market clearly beat the second best, Frankfurt, which finished with a + 9.56%, while Paris took 9.46%.
Lagging behind was Amsterdam (+5.12%), which can still however boast a positive track record, while Madrid closed in the red (-6.2%) and London lost 4.5% of its value. The worst performer -- and you can not really say it was a surprise -- was the Athens Stock Exchange, which paid for the crisis in early summer that brought the country to the brink of default with a hefty 26% fall.
