Parma will be the European Youth Capital in 2027. The Emilia Romagna city beat off competition from the other challengers: Chișinău in Moldova and Fuenlabrada and Málaga in Spain. The inclusive program implemented by the administration led by Michele Guerra together with the National Youth Council, JEP Junior Enterprise Parma and the city's Youth Commission was awarded.
A total of 8 themes were addressed in the project: from Housing to Future Jobs, from Inclusion to Environmental Sustainability. In March when the list of finalists was announced, Mayor Guerra had exulted, “This is news that makes us enormously happy, because it is the result of serious work, built over time with patience and great care.” The satisfaction will be even greater now that the result has been achieved.
