Dean Tamburri's new book, Un biculturalismo negato: la scrittura "italiana" negli Stati Uniti(Franco Cesati Editore, 2018), is hot off the presses. It tackles the question of identity and the person who writes in Italian but lives outside Italy. Tamburri's argument is that we need to abandon the notion of geography as a determining factor in defining what it means to be an "Italian writer." The authors discussed in the book are: Alfredo de Palchi, Rita Dinale, Luigi Fontanella, Emanuele Pettener, and Joseph Tusiani.
As of June 28, Un biculturalismo negato will be in bookstores in Italy. Copies are also available directly from the publisher, Franco Cesati Editore (http://www.francocesatieditore.com), by writing to [email protected].
