In an open letter, I call on President Gentiloni to help strengthen the human resources of our consular network. Here is the text:
“Dear Mr. Gentiloni, I have recently visited several Italian communities in North and Central America, and I also met with the consulates and the staff who provide an important service to fellow countrymen far away from Motherland.
Mr. President, despite the great work done by both consuls that from all the personnel of the consolati, both of role and of local agreement, it is often impossible to dispose of the amount of accumulated practices due to the great Italian presence in the world that this year has reached the quota of 5 million citizens registered in the special register AIRE.
