Despite the influence of Italian immigrants here in Wisconsin, and especially here in Dane County, and a significant trade relationship, no Italian Ambassador to the United States had ever visited Wisconsin. Until this month. It went largely un-noticed, and that's too bad because it's important.
Ambassador Claudio Bisogniero not only included Wisconsin in his tour of Upper Midwest states, including the obligatory visit with the Governor and state officials, but he also had lunch at Porta Bella with members of Madison's Italian Workmen's Club and local officials both authentically Italian like County Executive Joe Parisi, and honorary Italians for the day.
