One of Stanly County’s more popular restaurants damaged in a fire will not be reopening in Norwood. Milano’s Italian-American Restaurant will be reopening in Mt. Gilead, instead of downtown Norwood. Plans are underway for Milano’s to reopen in the former The Ford Place Restaurant, originally a car dealership.
“There are more opportunities at The Ford Place,” said Milano’s owner Amy Hatley, referring to the more spacious location. “I really want to play up that event center.” She added plans include taking advantage of the larger venue to host special events and parties. Hatley also plans to add catering services.
