‘SNL’ alum Joe Piscopo bringing Sinatra night to the airwaves

“Saturday Night Live” alum Joe Piscopo is taking over the airwaves for “Sunday Nights with Sinatra” on 77 WABC Radio, Page Six is told. “I am thrilled and excited,” Piscopo told us. “It’s gonna swing baby.” He joins a revamped weekend lineup — after Gristedes CEO John Catsimatidis took over the station — which includes DJ Cousin Brucie and singer Tony Orlando.

The actor is known for impersonating the singing great, but when he was first asked to play Ol’ Blue Eyes on “SNL,” he was initially reluctant. He previously said on SiriusXM: “I was steadfast because Frank Sinatra is the hero of my father, man. They were the same age, same generation, same greatness, they were Italian-Americans from North Jersey, baby, I’m just saying. I had immense respect for Frank Sinatra.”
