Jessica Bailey left for Italy last week with the University of North Alabama Chamber Choir, but when the rest of the 30-member elite vocal ensemble returns to Florence next week, Bailey won't be on the plane.
She will stay behind to prepare for the four-week Operafestival di Roma, a select opera festival in Rome. Bailey is one of 50 performers chosen to perform in the two operas the festival will stage.
