The Sugar Land City Council is collaborating with the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce, the International Film Festival of Spello and the Region of Umbra to host an Italian Film Festival. The festival Umbria in Sugar Land will be held in Sugar Land and will begin on Sept. 27, running through Oct. 1 in various venues across Sugar Land. There will be European films, in addition to Italian films, shown at the festival and visitors will also have the opportunity to meet with experts in the cinema world, attend seminars and culturally inspired events.
Overall, this festival is meant to highlight the influence the Umbrian region has had in the areas of art, culture, food, wine, cinematography and more. Although the event will be held in Sugar Land, it is expected to bring cultural awareness about the Umbria area, as guests enjoy films from the Festival del Cineman Cittá di Spello ed i Borghi Umbri.
