There will be a Columbus Day ceremony at the Columbus Monument in front of Scotch Plains Town Hall on Saturday at 11 a.m. The event is hosted by the Scotch Plains-Fanwood Chapter of UNICO National, the Italian-American Club of Scotch Plains and the Knights of Columbus #5730 Council.
UNICO is the largest Italian American service organization in the US. It is a non-profit, chartered in 1974 and their mission is to support scholarship programs, charitable organizations and local families in need. The Scotch Plains Italian-American Club was founded in 1906 and is a private non-profit organization that supports various charities through financial contributions, and the member volunteer their time and talents to the community.
