The Plainfields' Chapter of UNICO is once again holding its Annual Pig Roast--Friday, December 5th. Doors open 7:00 PM at the Italian American Club at the Scotch Plains Italian American Hall. The club is located at 1976 Valley Ave. in Scotch Plains.
The home-made meal and menu includes unlimited roasted pig and chicken, bread and sides of roasted potatoes, salad, string beans, hot peppers, and sufrite. Included are: wine and beer and soda, and dessert which consists of Italian cookies and coffee and tea. There are door prizes at the end of the night.
Tickets are $40 in advance, or $50 at the door and can be obtained in advance by calling Bob Bengivenga at 908-405-7248 or Renato Biribin at 908- 472-0164. The event is open to the public, however ticketed reservations are required due to limited seating.
UNICO is the nation's largest Italian American volunteer service group, and its chapters engage in philanthropic activities that include promoting Italian culture, scholarships, community days and contributing to health causes as well as the needy and national and international humanitarian causes.
