Renato Biribin, a former National President of UNICO, the Italian-American service organization, who helped charter the Scotch Plains chapter of UNICO in 1973, has died at age 79.
Biribin was a fixture for many years selling raffle tickets (among other duties) at the St. Bart's Italian Festival in Scotch Plains each Labor Day Weekend and at Clark's Italian Festival each October. He was also a successful attorney and an active volunteer with numerous community groups.
