Puglia, Sicily and Tuscany share the prize money for the best extra virgin olive oils in Italy. During Veronafiere, an event dedicated to the world of olive oil, the prize was presented the 15th edition of the Gambero Rosso Italian Oils Guide which reviewed 828 oils from 437 companies, awarding recognition of excellence to 183 labels awarded with the Three Leaves and 17 Special Prizes.
Puglia won the award for Best Organic Oil with Venterra, Cru #312 Monocultivar Picholine Bio; the award for Best Medium Fruity, went to Sabino Leone, Don Gioacchino Dop Terra di Bari Castel del Monte Monocultivar Coratina; the special award Frantoio dell'anno assigned to Conserva.
