The culture of good food is as central to the heart and soul of Italy as practically any other facet of the Dolce Vita. Each of Italy’s regions is renowned for distinctive food and wine specialties, all lovingly produced with pride and tradition. Yet only one region, Emilia Romagna, has earned the nickname of Italy’s “food basket.”
Considered to be the Italian gastronomical capital, many of the products originating here have come to symbolize Italy itself, a rich array of culinary delicacies that never fail to make a foodie’s heart flutter. Located south of Milan, a diverse geographical make up of fertile valleys stitched together by the Po River spill into rich pasture lands and gently rolling hills. Agricultural crops thrive alongside healthy herds of livestock.
