First, filmmaker John Maggio had to dispose of the M-word, because it's the first thing that came up when he was trying to raise money to produce "The Italian-Americans," a two-part, four-hour documentary PBS will unveil this month.
"It took longer to raise the money than to actually make the film," Maggio said before a screening at Ramsey High School last weekend before an audience of about 200 people invited by the local UNICO.
