Ramsey audience gets a sneak preview at "The Italian-Americans" documentary

Forty-three years after "The Godfather," eight years after the final "Sopranos" episode, but only two years removed from "Jersey Shore," television has finally delivered an image of Italian-Americans that everyone can love.

The people who attended a sneak preview of the upcoming PBS series "The Italian-Americans" at Ramsey High School on Sunday were well versed in the stereotypes of Italian-Americans both old and new: Mafia don Vito Corleone making an offer you can't refuse; Tony Soprano plotting to whack a rival wise guy; or the carnival parade of big muscle guidos and big-hair guidettes down the boardwalk in Seaside Heights.
