Last May 14, the President of the Joint Civic Committee of Italian Americans, Ron Onesti, arrived in San Marino to express his concrete solidarity in favor of the reception of Ukrainian refugees that San Marino is offering. Dr. Maria Alessandra Albertini met with Onesti to express the deepest gratitude of San Marino's Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Luca Beccari, for the highly significant gesture.
The solidarity action was made possible thanks to the active involvement of the Consul of the Republic of San Marino in Chicago, Robert Allegrini, who promptly worked to encourage fundraising in favor of the Ukrainian population, personally committing himself to the activation of the PayPal system and thus to facilitate virtual transactions of contributions from abroad.
In fact, Ron Onesti has already sent to the specially created current account a contribution of 10,000 dollars; with his presence in San Marino he also intended to reiterate the propulsive role exercised by the Republic's diplomatic and consular representatives in promoting and making San Marino known abroad. The meeting also made it possible to develop a discussion on future initiatives that the benefactor plans to continue developing with the Republic of San Marino.
