A one-of-a-kind art exhibit will open at the Kimbell in Fort Worth next month. It will feature more than 40 late Renaissance/Baroque masterpieces from the Museo di Capodimonte in Naples, including “Antea” by Parmigianino and the ravishing ”Danaë” painted by Titian for the pope’s grandson, Cardinal Alessandro Farnese; Annibale Carracci’s “Pietà“ and Guido Reni’s “Atalanta and Hippomenes”, Ribera’s “Drunken Silenus” and Giovanni Battista Caracciolo’s ”Virgin of the Purgatory“.

What’s more, another Caravaggio! On the heels of the Dallas Museum of Art’s exhibit of Caravaggio’s “Martha and Mary Magdalene”, and in addition to the Kimbell’s own Caravaggio “The Cardsharps”, the astonishing “The Flagellation of Christ” by Caravaggio will be part of the exhibit! It opens March 1.
