Houston restaurant and hospitality mogul Tilman Fertitta said serving as the U.S. Ambassador to Italy and San Marino would be the "most important job" of his life during his U.S. Senate confirmation hearing on Tuesday. "If confirmed, I take the responsibility of being an ambassador at this crucial moment in history as the most important job of my life," Fertitta said before the committee.
"You have my commitment, and America has my commitment to always represent the United States and President Trump with dignity, pride, friendship and strength." Fertitta appeared before the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations to answer questions about his background and ability to serve in the role to which President Donald Trump nominated the billionaire entrepreneur last December.
