According to CBS' senior White House correspondent Jennifer Jacobs, President-elect Donald Trump is seriously considering the Texas hospitality magnate for the role of U.S. ambassador to Italy under his administration.

Citing unnamed sources, Jacobs wrote in posts on X and the Bluesky platform on Wednesday night that Fertitta "is expected to be Trump's pick" for the position. In an email to Chron, a Fertitta representative declined to comment on Wednesday night's report.
